The 10th annual game, which includes 44 players eligible for the 2022 draft at Bell Centre in Montreal on July 7-8, will feature two teams consisting of 22 players each, drawn from the USA Hockey National Team Development Program Under-18 Team and the United States Hockey League.

Players were selected by USA Hockey in conjunction with Central Scouting.

“This is a terrific event that showcases our top American players and beyond,” USA Hockey assistant executive director of hockey operations John Vanbiesbrouck said. “Working together with the USHL and NHL, we’re excited for a historic 10th year for this event.”

Cooley, a 17-year-old left-shot center who plays for the NTDP Under-18 team, has scored 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists), two shorthanded goals and has taken 74 shots on goal in 24 games.

“Cooley is the one who will take the puck to the net, go to the dirty areas, pay the price,” Central Scouting director Dan Marr said. “He’s got the skills to bury his chances, and is every bit as deserving to be in that conversation for the No. 1 pick overall [in the 2022 draft].”

Cooley is one of nine players from the NTDP projected as a first-round pick in Central Scouting’s midterm rankings. Also playing in the game are forwards Cutter Gauthier (No. 6), Jimmy Snuggerud (No. 8), Isaac Howard (No. 12), Frank Nazar (No. 17) and Rutger McGroarty (No. 18); and defensemen Ryan Chesley (No. 22), Lane Hutson (No. 31) and Seamus Casey (No. 32).

Snuggerud is tied for the NTDP scoring lead with 37 points (15 goals, 22 assists) in 32 games. Howard also has scored 37 points (14 goals, 23 assists) in 32 games. Nazar is third with 36 points (15 goals, 21 assists) in 32 games.

There is one USHL player projected as a first-round pick playing in the game, Waterloo defenseman Sam Rinzel (No. 26). He has scored three points (one goal, two assists) in three USHL games, and has scored 16 points (three goals, 13 assists) in 12 games with Chaska High School in Minnesota.

NTDP goalie Dylan Silverstein, No. 3 in Central Scouting’s midterm ranking of North American goalies, is the highest-ranked player at his position in the game. He is 8-4-0 with a 3.22 goals-against average, .907 save percentage and two shutouts in 14 games.

Six players from the 2021 All-American Game were selected in the first round of the 2021 NHL Draft: defenseman Luke Hughes (No. 4, New Jersey Devils), and forwards Tyler Boucher (No. 10, Ottawa Senators), Cole Sillinger (No. 12, Columbus Blue Jackets), Matt Coronato (No. 13, Calgary Flames), Chaz Lucius (No. 18, Winnipeg Jets) and Mackie Samoskevich (No. 24, Florida Panthers).

Anthony Noreen (Tri-City, USHL) will coach Team Blue, with Ryan Petersen (Green Bay, USHL) as his assistant. Brock Sheahan (Chicago, USHL) will coach Team White, with Cody Chupp, Muskegon, USHL) as his assistant.
